DAREnet is the result of the DARE programme of SURF. All Dutch universities, the National Library of the Netherlands, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) participate in this programme. From 1 January 2007 KNAW Research Information has taken over responsibility for the DAREnet website.
